Donald Trump, president of the United States, announced his decision to establish an “artificial intelligence force.”

Mr. Trump, on the Truth Social network, called artificial intelligence an “industrial revolution” and compared its impact to the time when the internet became widespread.

He wrote: “I am forming an AI Force; just like in my first term as president I formed the Space Force, which has had remarkable success.

Mr. Trump predicted that the artificial intelligence industry has the capacity to account for up to 25% of the United States’ gross domestic product and said that he will soon introduce the top official of this force.

The U.S. president also said that his country has surpassed “China and other parts of the world” in artificial intelligence, and that he is trying to maintain this advantage.

In response to concerns from companies active in the artificial intelligence field over the past few days regarding the pace of the growth of this technology, Mr. Trump says that he will in no way block the growth of this “superb industry” and that he will help it grow.
