🔶 Doctors’ request for urgent attention to the physical condition of Dr. Hamid Qarah Hasanlu

A group of Iranian doctors and medical staff, in a letter they wrote on Monday, Mehr 20 (October 12), addressed to the Judiciary, called for urgent attention to the physical condition of Dr. Hamid Qarah Hasanlu, a physician and radiology specialist with 26 years of medical service.

In this letter, which has been received by DW Farsi, it is stated that Dr. Qarah Hasanlu was arrested in Aban 1401 and, during the course of his arrest and torture, suffered serious physical injuries, including broken ribs, damage to the lungs, as well as injuries to his eyes and ears.

In an audio file released from prison, Dr. Qarah Hasanlu explained how he was detained and threatened with being killed in front of his wife and his 13-year-old daughter.

The letter’s signatories, referring to information published about his worrying physical condition and the possibility of a “need for the urgent drainage of the lungs,” emphasized that addressing this condition requires immediate access to specialized medical facilities outside prison.
