One night before the fourth anniversary of the government killing of Mahsa Jina Amini, messages that Iran International has received from Isfahan, Rasht, Foman, Mashhad, and Nishapur indicate an intensification of pressure to impose mandatory hijab and the return of the morality police (gashte ershad), hijab enforcers, plainclothes forces, and armed officers to the streets.

Four years have passed since Mahsa’s killing, but the Islamic Republic still sends vans, buses, plainclothes forces, and armed officers to the streets to control women and create fear.
