Delivery of the first batch of U.S. F-16 fighter jets to Taiwan;

Two U.S.-made F-16 fighter jets landed in Taiwan on Friday, the 10th of Mehr.

These fighters are the first part of a shipment of 66 «F-16 Viper» jets, the contract for which was signed in 2019 but whose delivery had been delayed.

Taiwan’s defense minister said it is expected that more of these jets will be delivered to the country before the end of 2026.

The move comes as China had previously warned against any arming of Taiwan and against the transfer of Western weapons to the island.
