Delcy Rodríguez, interim president of Venezuela, signed a memorandum of understanding with French oil and gas company TotalEnergies on Saturday.

This new memorandum is the latest in a wave of oil agreements between multinational companies and the new Venezuelan government that have been signed after the U.S. removed Nicolás Maduro last December.

The United States also signed an energy agreement with Caracas last month, which allows Washington to take control of part of Venezuela’s vast oil reserves. On Tuesday, Donald Trump, president of the United States, will meet with Rodríguez in New York.
