🔸Reuters news agency, on Wednesday, 28 Mordad, based on data from shipping-tracking companies, reported a reduction in traffic in the Strait of Hormuz in recent days. This comes as CNN says that with the continuation of oil exports from the Middle East, the Iranian government is losing control of this strait.

🔸Based on data from the company Kpler, on Tuesday six commercial vessels passed through the Strait of Hormuz, three fewer than the number that passed on Monday. The average traffic in the Strait of Hormuz in the previous week was 11 ships.

🔸Kpler said that on Tuesday three tankers passed through the Strait of Hormuz, one of which was a giant tanker that entered the Persian Gulf via a route close to the coasts of Oman.

🔸In the wake of a deadlock in negotiations between Tehran and Washington to reach a final agreement and the continuation of Iran’s maritime blockade, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has emphasized the closing of the Strait of Hormuz and said that passage through this vital waterway is possible only with permission and supervision by this military institution.

🔸This, while U.S. President Donald Trump has repeatedly said that the Strait of Hormuz is open and has even spoken of his willingness to annex it to “U.S. territory.”

🔸With ambiguity still continuing about the extent of control that different sides in the Middle East conflict have over the Strait of Hormuz, CNN, based on data from Kpler, reported that the United States is “making progress in the battle over control of the Strait of Hormuz and Iran has lost much of its control over this vital waterway.”

🔸According to Kpler data, more than 80 percent of the identified ships when passing through the Strait of Hormuz over the past two weeks have gone through the Omani route.

🔸As written by CNN, the current situation is markedly different from a month ago. At that time, Kpler was not observing the passage of almost any ships via a route close to the coasts of Oman. The route close to Oman is approved by the United Nations, and Iran does not accept passage through it.
