📸 Death of a visitor who jumped into the tiger enclosure at a zoo

British police confirmed in a report that a man died after being attacked by a tiger at a wildlife park in Yorkshire.

On Saturday, October 10, shortly before contacting the police at 13:35 local time, a visitor was seen jumping into the tiger enclosure at the park.

South Yorkshire Police said that the tiger attacked immediately after the man entered the enclosure, and the man died on the spot. According to officials, no harm was done to the animal, and it remained in its enclosure after the incident.

The leisure center was closed due to safety considerations.

David Miliband, the UK’s Foreign Secretary, said he was “deeply saddened” to hear the news. In a message, he expressed “his sincere condolences to the family of the deceased.” He also added that he is “very grateful to the emergency services and the park staff who responded quickly to this incident.”

Yorkshire Wildlife Park also said in a statement: «We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of the person who lost his life.»
