Current and former U.S. officials told The Washington Post that the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) found Israel’s assessment of an imminent threat by the Islamic Republic against Donald Trump, the President of the United States, not convincing, but the Secret Service removed him covertly from Turkey by carrying out a highly unusual security operation.

According to The Washington Post, the information related to the threat had been provided to the United States by Israel, but CIA analysts cast doubt on its credibility and assessed it as having a “low level of confidence.” However, the Secret Service, to prevent any risk, covertly transferred Trump to Britain by another military aircraft after the NATO summit in Ankara, while his journalists and associates traveled with an older Air Force One.

The newspaper wrote that some U.S. intelligence officials believed Israel’s warning might have been raised not only to inform but also with the aim of influencing Trump’s decisions. However, the White House said the American president faces multiple threats, including from the Islamic Republic, and that all necessary measures have been taken to protect him.
