🔻Commander of U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM) within CENTCOM changed

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced that the commander of the Special Operations Force of the institution has changed, and that Admiral Thomas Donovan has replaced Lieutenant General Jasper Jeffers.

The change-of-command ceremony was held on 23 Mordad/14 August in Tampa, in the state of Florida.

The Special Operations Force of CENTCOM is responsible for planning and carrying out special operations in the areas of 21 countries in the Middle East, Central Asia, and South Asia.

Jasper Jeffers had been in charge of this force since June 2024, and is expected to continue to serve as the commander of the International Stabilization Force in connection with the Gaza peace plan.

Thomas Donovan had previously served as commander of the “Special Reconnaissance and Support Command” within the U.S. Special Operations Forces structure.
