🔶 China denies “sending man-portable missile systems” to Iran
China has denied reports about sending 300 to 400 man-portable missile systems built in this country to Iran in the near future.
Beijing presents itself as a supporter of peace and of a political solution to exit the Iranian crisis, but according to reports published citing sources familiar with the matter, the country is preparing a large arms shipment to send to Iran.
German network n-tv wrote that in response to a question about this, China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs called the reports “groundless and lacking credibility,” and stressed that China has always played a role in promoting peace and ending hostilities.
Earlier, Reuters reported, citing people familiar with the details of the matter, that Iran is expected to receive man-portable air-defense missiles made by China in the coming weeks. According to the report, this shipment will be the first portion of a larger order of up to 40 of these systems.
The report further said that the price of these transportable air-defense systems for Iran would be between $60 million and $70 million.
