CENTCOM commander: USS Abraham Lincoln had the lowest number of mental health issues among the crew

🔸Brig. Gen. Brad Cooper, commander of the United States Central Command (CENTCOM), said on Sunday that his recent visit to the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier was “surprising and inspiring,” praising the crew’s “resilience.”

🔸The remarks came after reports raised concerns about mental health and deteriorating living conditions on the carrier.

🔸In a statement published by CENTCOM on the social media platform X, Admiral Cooper said that long-term service at sea is “especially difficult and exhausting,” but noted that the Lincoln carrier had the lowest number of cases of issues related to mental health among 11 active U.S. Navy aircraft carriers.

🔸He also thanked the carrier command for prioritizing mental health and strengthening crew resilience.

🔸Previously, U.S. President Donald Trump also dismissed reports about the dire situation of the USS Abraham Lincoln crew, but said that another carrier would replace it in the Middle East.

🔸The USS Abraham Lincoln has been present in the region for months and has played an important role in the regional war, and then in the naval blockade imposed against Iran.
