🔶 CENTCOM: 82 ships changed course amid Iran’s maritime blockade

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a post on the X social network on Saturday, 7 Shahrivar (29 August), that its forces had changed the course of 82 commercial ships by Friday, 6 Shahrivar, as part of the U.S. maritime blockade against Iran.

CENTCOM also said that U.S. forces disabled three ships and seized two other ships to ensure compliance with sanctions regulations.

According to CENTCOM data up to Monday, 2 Shahrivar (24 August), more than 40 ships carrying humanitarian aid were also allowed to pass.

The command also published an image of an American sailor who is seen on deck acting as a lookout while the destroyer “USS John Paul Jones” (DDG-53) moves in the region’s waters.
