🔻Britain has submitted Paghăh Ahngarāni’s film “Exercises for a Revolution,” which received the Golden Eye award for best documentary at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, as its representative in the Oscars 2027 for Best International Feature Film.

The Hollywood Reporter says: “Over more than two and a half years, Paghăh Ahngarāni wrote the film in the UK, researched it, and edited it, and along the way collaborated with a group of British colleagues.”

Earlier this year, the film was screened for the first time in the Special Screenings section of the Cannes Film Festival, and afterwards it was shown at the Telluride Film Festival and the Toronto International Film Festival.

“Exercises for a Revolution” was released in Britain in September.

In this film, Ms. Ahngarāni, using her personal archives, home videos, images of street protests, newspapers, and recorded voices, has revisited more than 40 years of Iran’s history.
