Britain’s prime minister, on Monday in Kyiv, compared Ukraine’s resistance to Russia to Britain’s battle against Nazi Germany in World War II and said London is helping Kyiv strengthen its air defenses before winter.

Andy Burnham, in a speech in front of St. Sophia Cathedral on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence, said that despite Russian threats against Britain, London’s support for Kyiv will continue.

Last week, Russia warned London about the “consequences” of sending drones to Ukraine.
