🔺Bloomberg: U.S. economic pressure has paid off, and the Islamic Republic is seeking an agreement
▪Bloomberg wrote in an editorial that the U.S. economic pressure on the Islamic Republic has worked, and that negotiators are now looking to quickly return to the understanding reached in June.
▪The editorial says that by blocking oil exports and tightening sanctions, the United States has strangled the economy of the Islamic Republic, while at the same time opening a secure channel for shipping by other countries. This costly effort has borne fruit, and crude oil exports have returned to a level close to that before the war.
▪Bloomberg wrote that this likely explains why the Islamic Republic is seeking to revive an understanding under which it promised the release of assets and permission to export oil in exchange for reopening Hormuz and returning to nuclear talks.
