🔺Bloomberg: The United States has five economic pressure levers against the Islamic Republic

▪Bloomberg, in response to the U.S. Treasury Department’s announcement about preparing unprecedented economic pressure on the Islamic Republic, wrote that the ministry has at least five pressure points at its disposal, which have not yet been fully used.

▪The first lever relates to China. According to Bloomberg, China buys more than 90% of the Islamic Republic’s oil exports, and imposing sanctions on entities that facilitate these purchases directly reduces Tehran’s oil revenue.

▪The second lever is exchange houses. After selling oil, the Islamic Republic still needs exchange houses and intermediaries to convert payments—often received in China’s yuan—into currencies that can be used.
