Belarus tests a new path back to the West

Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko has worked his way out of Western isolation before. Now, he seems to be launching yet another attempt.

Sanctions and diplomatic ostracism only grew after the Lukashenko regime aided Russia's war against Ukraine by allowing Russian forces to use Belarusian territory for an assault against Kyiv in 2022.

Now, channels to the West seem to have opened up again.
