🔶 Babak Amirkhosravi, a founding member of the Iranian Republican Coalition, has died

Babak Amirkhosravi, one of the founding members of the Iranian Republican Coalition, died in Paris. Amirkhosravi was born in 1306 (1927/1928) in Tabriz, and in 1324 (1945/1946) he joined the Tudeh Party.

For decades, this political activist worked in the former Czechoslovakia, the former Soviet Union, and East Germany, and after the 1979 Bahman (Islamic Revolution), he returned to Iran, but since 1361 (1982/1983) he left Iran again and went to France.

In 1363 (1984/1985), Amirkhosravi ended his cooperation and membership in the Tudeh Party, and by announcing a split, he launched an organization called the Democratic People’s Party of Iran, and published a publication titled “Way of Freedom” as the organ of this party.

He also played a role in establishing and forming the “Association for Dialogue and Democracy” in Paris, and later, from the beginning of 1382 (2003/2004), he participated in the founding and establishment of the Iranian Republicans Coalition.
