🔸The website Axios reported that several of the highest-ranking national security officials of Donald Trump’s administration discussed the next steps for the United States in its war with Iran, as well as Saudi Arabia’s fighting with Yemen’s Houthis, in an hours-long, undisclosed meeting at Camp David on Friday.

🔸According to Axios, the meeting was chaired by JD Vance, the U.S. vice president, and attended by Marco Rubio, the secretary of state; Pete Hegseth, the secretary of defense; Steve Witkoff, the White House envoy; John Ratcliffe, the head of the Central Intelligence Agency; and General Dan Kin, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

🔸A U.S. official told Axios that in the meeting “decisions were made or at least the issues were examined in depth.” The White House declined to comment on the meeting.

🔸Axios writes that the meeting is noteworthy because the Trump administration had not announced it in advance, and the most recent similar meeting had been held in June 2025—only a few days before the start of the Israel war with Iran.

🔸The report is published as negotiations with Tehran have stalled and Trump is considering resuming large-scale military operations against Iran.
