At least nine people have been killed in a mine collapse in Colombia, Alex Gonzalez, secretary for peace and human rights in the Narino department, told Caracol.

According to the broadcaster, the death toll could rise to 12-15. The mine, where gold was being extracted illegally, is located in the municipality of Santa Barbara.
