Asieh Amini, a social affairs analyst, said about the United Nations’ response to the intensification of the wave of executions in Iran: “Given the current conditions in Iran and the escalation of violence by the Islamic Republic, the influence of civil and human rights institutions to stop executions has become more difficult than ever. Such statements only work when they lead to practical and diplomatic pressure against the Islamic Republic, and do not remain at the level of verbal condemnations.”
