🔻Arab League warning: Israel’s attacks on Lebanon increase the risk of the war spreading
The Arab League condemned Israel’s ongoing attacks on Lebanon and described the attacks from the previous day, which left 11 dead, as a “dangerous escalation” that could derail efforts to end the fighting and reach a solution.
A spokesperson for the Arab League said that Israel’s policies and actions “clearly indicate the occupiers’ intention to prolong the conflict, obstruct negotiations, and impose a new reality on the ground; an act that is absolutely unacceptable and rejected.”
While warning about the expansion of these hostilities, he said that unless the international community, and especially Washington, “stops Israel’s ‘war machine’” and forces Israel to comply with UN Security Council Resolution 1701.
Adopted in 2006, the resolution calls for a complete halt to hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah and emphasizes the immediate end to all Hezbollah attacks, as well as all Israel’s offensive military operations.
