🔸 Anthropic, the maker of the AI assistant “Claude,” confirmed that it has provided lawmakers with a draft proposal for legislation regarding the risks of artificial intelligence.
🔸 According to a report by Agence France-Presse, the company announced on Friday, 24 Mehr, that its proposal would allow the federal government, with a judge’s approval, to prevent the release or use of models that carry an imminent risk of death or serious injury to more than 50 people, or damage exceeding one billion dollars.
🔸 The proposal also requires developers of the most advanced AI models to test their products, disclose their findings to the public, provide the models to independent evaluators, and have a robust security program.
🔸 So far, the policy of Donald Trump’s administration in this area has been based largely on companies’ voluntary commitments and executive orders, and Congress has not yet passed federal legislation on artificial intelligence.
🔸 The proposal comes after reports of security incidents involving AI systems.
