An Israeli official told The Times of Israel that Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, is expected to hold a security cabinet meeting on Sunday, 4 Mordad, at 1:00 p.m. local time, before traveling to Washington.
The official said the meeting will be held after the full cabinet session on the same day.
The meeting takes place ahead of Netanyahu’s trip to Washington on Monday to discuss with Donald Trump, the president of the United States.
The Times of Israel, citing its sources, reported that Trump is seeking to give diplomacy more of an opportunity, although Israeli officials have said they are still keeping themselves prepared for the possibility of renewed escalation of fighting.
