An Iranian blogger at the Zurbatiyah border crossing had their passport stamped with an official seal and with the permission of an Iraqi immigration officer, and posted the video on their social media accounts. The act, which is contrary to the approved procedures of border crossings, sparked widespread controversy, and Iraq’s Ministry of Interior announced the start of official investigations, the formation of a fact-finding committee, and legal action against those responsible.
