An armed man was detained before Donald Trump, the U.S. president, traveled to California, on his golf course in the south of Los Angeles.

U.S. officials said the 38-year-old man, identified as Jhehnian Taile, had been monitoring activities related to security planning at the Trump National Golf Club in Rancho Palos Verdes in the days before Trump’s trip, and later a cache of weapons was found in connection with him.

According to the officials, during a body search, officers found a 16-round magazine containing hollow-point bullets in his pocket. In a search of his vehicle, a loaded handgun with a bullet in the chamber and another loaded magazine containing hollow-point bullets were also found.

On Tuesday, investigators referred the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for review of the charges. Taile remains in custody.

Officials said no credible threats against the surrounding community have been identified so far, but the investigation is still ongoing
