The Amir Kabir newsletter and other human-rights media expressed concern over the issuance of a death sentence for five detained students in Iran.

At the same time, the publication of an audio file attributed to one of these students, named Najmeh Amini, who was arrested during the protests of Dey 1404, has been reflected in some domestic media outlets in Iran.

In this audio file, which was released yesterday, Sunday, Shahrivar 29, Najmeh Amini, from Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad, said that “after 8 months of uncertainty, on Shahrivar 25, in Revolutionary Court, Branch 6, a death sentence” was issued for her.

Fars News Agency, citing informed sources, confirmed Najmeh Amini’s arrest on charges of “insulting sacred tenets and cursing the Prophet in cyberspace, and activities against national security.”

The news agency added, citing the same informed source, that the relevant organizations have not confirmed the authenticity of the audio file, and that a final ruling has not yet been issued for her.

In the released audio file, Najmeh Amini, while declaring her innocence, asks for an opportunity to defend herself, and calls on lawyers, legal experts, and human-rights organizations to examine her case.
