👈 Al Akhbar: Negotiations between Qalibaf and Ali al-Zaydi over the transfer of arms to resistance groups did not reach a definitive outcome

Al Akhbar newspaper has reported that during Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf’s trip to Baghdad, the issue of transferring arms held by resistance groups to the Iraqi government remained unresolved without reaching a final agreement.

According to this report, most of the negotiations were focused on the subject of Iraq’s oil exports and ways to assist Baghdad in this regard.

Iraqi political sources say that the differences now center more on how the arrangement would be implemented, the guarantees, and the timing of monopolizing the arms in the hands of the state, and that some Iraqi political figures are trying to reach a middle-ground formula.
