Ahmad Bakhshayesardestani, a member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Parliament, told ILNA in an interview that the United States may target once again another group of officials of the Islamic Republic by distracting Iran with the issues of “the Strait of Hormuz” and “Kuh-e Kolang.”

At the same time, he said a U.S. ground attack on Iran is unlikely, and that if such an attack were carried out, it would result in heavy losses for the United States. Bakhshayesardestani also said it is possible that the United States could attack “Kuh-e Kolang” and present it as the end of the war and a unilateral ceasefire.

The parliament member added that the Islamic Republic and the United States will ultimately be forced to negotiate, because “no war ends without negotiations.”
