🎥 In the years that satellites entered Iran, the Islamic Republic introduced laws to counter this device related to information dissemination, criminalizing its use; the police, like ninjas, would descend from the sky onto rooftops and, with kicks, throw satellite dishes down.
Now too, Starlink devices are being brought into the country; no matter how much criminalization is carried out, it’s a slap that has already been set in motion.
In the latest official news announced by the Islamic Republic, the Security Police said that in the first four months of 1405, security forces discovered 997 Starlink devices and related equipment and arrested 163 people in connection with this. Also, 15 vehicles carrying Starlink equipment were seized.
In this regard, we spoke with “Musa Barzin,” a legal scholar and attorney, on this week’s program “Digital Security.” You can get the full version of this interview in the list of “Digital Security” on the IranWire YouTube channel. This program was broadcast in full on the evening of Friday, 6 Shahrivar 1405, on IranWire TV.
