🔻Following an unprecedented increase in criticism, Gianni Infantino, the head of the governing body of world football, called on senior FIFA officials to attend a meeting in Morocco on Wednesday.

Arsène Wenger, head of FIFA’s global football development, Matthias Grafström, the Secretary General, and Prince Ali, president of the Jordan Football Association, have all announced their opposition to the “FIFA Forward by Infantino” plan.

Infantino, who has been in Morocco over the past week, held an executive session in Rabat, the capital of Morocco, in an effort to find a solution to the controversy.

One week after the initial publication of Infantino’s investment plan, the Frenchman Arsène Wenger, through FIFA, issued a statement calling for “transparency and honesty” from the organization.

In his statement, he said: “Recent events in FIFA deserve transparency from me. I had no role in this strategic plan, and for the first time I learned about this project through media reports.” 📸DeFodi via Getty Images
