🔻An adviser to the commander-in-chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said that passage routes in the Strait of Hormuz that Iran considers “illegal” will soon be blocked.

According to Fars News Agency, Mohammadreza Naghdi said: “These restricted routes were created by explosions and the destruction of parts of the rocky passages in this strategic waterway, and they were used by small boats for oil smuggling.”

He emphasized that “the Strait of Hormuz is closed, but some are using small vessels to carry out oil smuggling and transfer it to oil tankers.”

This comes while U.S. officials say that the Strait of Hormuz is open and that the amount of oil transferred from the region has reached pre-war levels.
