🔻According to a report by Reuters, France has begun drafting a draft resolution in the UN Security Council in coordination with Washington, aimed at establishing an international mission to restore commercial traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.

The initiative follows a meeting between Emmanuel Macron and Donald Trump, the presidents of France and the United States, on Monday, September 21.

Diplomats describe the nature of the mission as defensive, with the aim of separating freedom of navigation from the broader dispute with Iran and avoiding taking an aggressive approach toward Tehran.
