The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company is continuing exports of liquefied natural gas from its facilities in the Persian Gulf. Based on shipping data compiled by Bloomberg, an empty liquefied gas tanker belonging to the company’s shipping arm was seen in the Persian Gulf on Wednesday after passing through the Strait of Hormuz with its transponder turned off.

This passage is rare. Visible traffic through the Strait of Hormuz has effectively stopped since the attack on a Qatari liquefied gas ship in early in the month.

A spokesperson for Abu Dhabi Oil, however, said it would not comment on operational matters including the voyage schedule and the movement of vessels.
