ABC News, citing an informed U.S. official, reported the interim shipping route that the Islamic Republic and Oman are considering will be in place for 60 days, during which negotiators will work to reach a long-term agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and a nuclear deal.

According to this report, Iranian government officials have said that this agreement creates new shipping routes, under which commercial vessels enter the Persian Gulf via a route under the control of the Islamic Republic and will exit via an outgoing route under Oman’s control.

The U.S. official emphasized that, until an official announcement is made, none of the provisions of this final agreement has been set.
