🚨 A magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck near the Spanish city of Granada, in the autonomous community of Andalusia, the National Geographic Institute reported.

The epicenter of the quake was located near the town of Alhendin, with its focus at a depth of 2 kilometers. Preliminary reports indicate no injuries as a result of the earthquake, although structural damage has been reported.

According to the Andalusian government, some residents in the region reported cracks, the collapse of various structures—including cornices and walls—and damage to several buildings. Due to these incidents, authorities have activated the emergency phase of the regional seismic action plan.
