A coalition led by Saudi Arabia announced that, in a large-scale operation against the Houthis, it destroyed 136 military targets belonging to the group. According to the coalition’s announcement, aerial support for the Yemeni government army and forces aligned with it has been provided around the clock.
These airstrikes targeted Sana’a, which is under Houthi control. Reports also circulated of a massive explosion in the port city of Aden in southern Yemen, where the official Yemeni government is based.
The attacks are being carried out at the same time as a ground offensive by Yemeni government forces to retake areas under Houthi control. The Houthis have also claimed responsibility in recent days for attacks on the airports of Abha, Jazan, and Najran, as well as the main airport in Riyadh.
