35 Gazans freed by Israel after being held since Oct 7, 2023

Gazans who were working in Israel before the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023 have finally been reunited with their loved ones after their release by Israeli authorities.

"35 Palestinian detainees were released today and transferred by our teams from the Kerem Shalom crossing to Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis," an ICRC spokesperson said.

One detainee, Ali Qandil, told reporters how elated he was to be free.

"I feel so happy; my feelings are indescribable," Qandil said. "Thank God, after years of imprisonment. I hope other prisoners will be released as well."

However, fellow detainee Mohammed al-Mazraawi was angrier about his experience in Israeli detention.

"We were subjected to unprecedented humiliation, something not normal," al-Mazraawi told reporters. "Humiliation in every sense of the word."
