🔸Singapore’s security agency, “ISD,” announced on Thursday, 19 Shahrivar that the commander of an Iraqi militia group supported by the Islamic Republic of Iran—who is said to have planned attacks against Jewish targets in Europe, Canada, and the United States—had tried several times to enter Singapore.

🔸Singapore said it would not allow Mohammad Baqir Saad Dawood Al-Saadi to enter the country, but warned that the case shows how conflicts in the Middle East can increase terrorism risks in Southeast Asia.

🔸In its annual report on the assessment of the terrorism threat, Singapore’s Ministry of Home Affairs said: “Baqir applied for a visa to visit Singapore on three separate occasions in 2023 and 2024, but ultimately did not travel to Singapore.”

🔸The Singapore security agency also said it believes Al-Saadi traveled to other places in Southeast Asia during this period.

🔸The agency added that the activities of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and its network of proxy armed forces “have increased the terrorism threat beyond the immediate conflict scenes in the Middle East.”
