Qatar, in a letter to the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the President of the Security Council, condemned the two recent attacks by the Islamic Republic on this country in the harshest terms.
Based on a report by Al Jazeera Network from Doha, the letter was sent to Antonio Guterres and the head of the Security Council and refers to two events.
The first was an attack on a Qatari ship on 16 Tir while it was attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. The second was a ballistic missile attack by the Islamic Republic on Qatari soil on 21 Tir, when the missiles were intercepted, but a child was injured as a result of shrapnel from the debris caused by the interception.
These attacks come at a time when Qatar, along with Pakistan, has been one of the main mediators in negotiations between the Islamic Republic and the United States.
In this letter, Qatar called for the immediate cessation of these attacks and stated that the Islamic Republic must pay compensation for them.
Doha also reserved the right to respond in any manner it deems appropriate.
