🔻Iranian writer, poet, artist, and literary critic Javad Majabi has died at the age of 86. He worked for more than six decades in literature, journalism, and the visual arts. Mr. Majabi was among the 134 signatories of the famous statement “We Are Writers,” which was published in 1373 (1994/95) in protest against suffocation and censorship in Iran. He was also among the passengers of the famous bus heading to Armenia, which later became clear was an attempt by Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence to make the passengers disappear. In the final years of his life, Javad Majabi suffered from cancer.
