🔸Heavy rainfall in Iran’s northern provinces has caused flooding in city streets and the closure of government offices, educational centers, and banks.

🔸A senior official from the Mazandaran provincial administration told Iranian media that, by order of the Mazandaran governor, all offices, educational centers, and provincial executive agencies—except for service and relief organizations and equipment—are closed on Tuesday, September 17. According to the official, due to the intensity of the rainfall, the province’s banks are also closed.

🔸Tasnīm News Agency reported that, since early Tuesday morning, with the intensification of the rainfall, parts of Mazandaran province—especially central and eastern areas—have been facing flooded streets, disruption to traffic, rising river and drainage-channel water levels, and power outages in some areas, including Juybar.

🔸Similar reports have also been released from Gilan province about flooded streets and rising river water levels.

🔸The head of crisis management at the Gilan provincial administration has asked the residents of the province to avoid unnecessary travel so that, as he said, “relief forces, fire services, and the municipality can carry out the operations to drain flooded streets with greater speed and in a shorter time.”
