Canada’s Foreign Ministry, in a special response to Iran International, said that Canada, while condemning the Islamic Republic’s threats against journalists inside and outside the country, firmly supports the media’s right to operate.

The Canadian Foreign Ministry emphasized that freedom of the media to protect human rights and fundamental freedoms is essential, and that citizens need independent media to access accurate information and keep governments accountable.
