🔸Britain on Tuesday, 17 Shahrivar, published the text of a law that allows the country to impose tougher sanctions on Iran.
🔸The law expands trade restrictions and powers to target ships; an action the British government described as part of a broader effort to curb Tehran’s nuclear program and other hostile activities of Iran.
🔸The British government said these measures will restrict Iran’s access to the UK’s financial system, expand trade bans to additional goods, technologies, and services, and prohibit Iranian aircraft landings in Britain, except in cases where exemptions are applied.
🔸Steven Doughty, a ministerial adviser in the UK’s Foreign Office, said in a statement that this law “intensifies our actions to limit Iran’s nuclear ambitions” and will help ensure that Iran “can never gain access to a nuclear weapon.”
