🔸 Abbas Ghazali’s documentary “The Observer’s Eye,” which depicts the life of Kowsar Eftekhari, one of the eye-injury victims, from the “Woman, Life, Freedom” protests, won an award at the 14th edition of the International Festival “Against Silence, All Voices” in Mexico.

🔸 According to the festival’s announcement, the documentary was selected as the chosen film for the “Borders, Migrations, and Exiles” section.

🔸 During the 1401 protests (2022), Kowsar Eftekhari was injured in the eye by government forces’ gunfire. The documentary “The Observer’s Eye” follows her life after this incident and the difficult decision between using an artificial eye to restore her former appearance or living with an injury that has become part of her protest identity.

🔸 After being injured, Eftekhari became one of the well-known figures among the eye-injury victims of the protests. She is among the protesters who have publicly shared their images and accounts of the consequences of shooting at protesters’ eyes.

🔸 “The Observer’s Eye” was made in Spain, and production was handled by ESCAC Films. This 28-minute film was produced in Persian and Spanish.
