The move is intended to demonstrate readiness to implement Donald Trump’s peace plan and to hand over the administration of civilian affairs in the region to a technocratic committee. According to Palestinian sources, this committee was formed six months ago within the framework of Mr. Trump’s plan, but it has not yet entered Gaza. Based on this report, neither Israel nor the peace council has yet agreed to transfer the administration of Gaza to this committee. If carried out, this action could be Hamas’s first practical step toward stepping away from direct rule in Gaza.
