🔶 Saudi Crown Prince Meets and Talks with CENTCOM Commander on Regional Developments
Saudi Arabia’s official news agency (SPA) reported that Mohammed bin Salman, the country’s crown prince, met and held talks with Brett Cooper, the commander of the U.S. Central Command staff (CENTCOM), in the city of Jeddah.
According to this report, in the meeting held on Monday, September 14, the two sides discussed relations between Saudi Arabia and the United States as well as the latest developments in the region.
Iran-linked Houthi forces, which control the most populous areas of Yemen and much of the north of the country, have launched attacks against Saudi Arabia and targeted Saudi vessels in the Red Sea since the announcement of a maritime blockade against Saudi Arabia in July.
On Monday, Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defense Organization, warning of the possibility of an attack on the cities of Najran, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, and Abha, declared a red alert status, and then later announced a white status, saying that the threat to these four southern cities of the country had been lifted.
