🔻 The spokesperson of Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, commenting on the country’s security and defense situation, said: «In the Persian Gulf, we must understand that having a strategic alliance with the United States is good, but it is not enough.»

Majed Al-Ansari said at a meeting in the UAE that one can have a partner or an ally, but for security, we must count on ourselves.

This Qatari official said, «Self-sufficiency in the field of security is the only way forward.»

Since the start of the U.S. and Israeli attacks, Iran has repeatedly targeted sites in Qatar. In one of these attacks, Iran, in response to an attack on its oil facilities, targeted one of the major LNG (liquefied natural gas) export facilities in Qatar, raising concerns about global energy supply.
