🔻Qatar condemns attacks on Saudi Arabia’s East-West pipeline

The Qatar Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned an attack on Saudi Arabia’s East-West pipeline.

The Saudi East-West pipeline is the only route for Riyadh’s oil exports that does not pass through the Strait of Hormuz.

In its statement, Qatar said that “targeting civilian and economic facilities is a condemnable act, an apparent violation of international law, and a dangerous escalation of tensions that undermines regional security and stability.”

The statement added that Qatar “appreciates the responsible approach of the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in support of the efforts of the Iraqi government to prevent its territory from being used to carry out aggression against the Kingdom and neighboring countries.”

Riyadh has announced that it will not respond to these attacks, following a request by Ali al-Zaidi, the Iraqi prime minister.
