Pezeşkiyan:
The truth is that in none of the fourteen provisions of that understanding did we back down on rights, principles, national interests, the values of the revolution, and our own beliefs. Not only was no concession made contrary to the country’s interests, but by carefully examining the terms of the agreement, a large part of the achievements has been in favor of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and in practice there is no clause that creates a one-sided benefit for the American side.
We stand, to the end of our lives, in defense of the country and the interests of the nation, and we have no doubt about this path. At the same time, however, we must be realistic and accept the natural consequences of this stance.
